1995 Pontiac Sunfire SE review from North America
"Never again"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Air conditioner went out at 95000. Purchased a belt that took the a/c out of the loop, cost about $35.
Transmission we out at 103000. Installed a GM rebuilt, but had to go back to the dealership a few times to get everything just right. About $1600.
Starter went out at 103000. Another $300 for a rebuilt.
When the car was in for the starter, the mechanic indicated the head gasket was going to need attention. Estimated it was going to run $700-$900.
General comments?
This car is fun to drive, but really shows its age at 100,000 miles. Everything loosens up and it ends up being numerous trips to the garage.
The best thing we did was trading it in while it was still running.
