1997 Pontiac Sunfire SE review from North America
"Own one? Get rid of it before it kills you!!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Too many recalls. After steering rack recall ran even worse.
The timing went
Constant engine knocking
The exhaust stank like rotten eggs no matter what I did.
Steering failed causing a head on collision in which I shouldn't have lived. The car crumpled like an accordion.
General comments?
The dealer said they couldn't do anything about the steering after replacing the recall on the rack. I then had my mechanic look at the car, he couldn't find the problem. On June 7/03 at 7:10 am the steering went and I almost bought the farm. I'm pursuing legal action as the accident was a mechanical failure. For as many recalls the Pontiac Sunflower has the whole car should be replaced!!! Own one? Get rid of it before it kills you. I'm lucky my family was not with me or I would have lost them. The car was written off at 85kms/hr. Anyone else suing or had a similar incident call me at (519) 240-7629, I'd like to hear what happened to yours. I took pictures at the scene and I can't believe I'm here to talk about it.
