"Expensive on upkeep"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Water pump replaced twice

alternator replaced twice

battery replaced 3 times

valve cover gasket replaced

head gasket replaced

timing belt replaced

poor a/c

hard ride

odometer lights don't illuminate properly, you have to tap the dash to get it to work

radio volume will not respond

poor paint job

gas fill door hard to open

drivers side seat slips rearward when accelerating from stop

many blind spots

noisy ride

impractical vehicle

difficult for back seat passengers to get in and out

recently in shop again for another leaking battery-these are quality batteries by the way- acid got on motor and transmission mounts causing an additional $1200 in repairs.

My wife wanted this car so I bought it for her. The only reason I rate it as high as I did is because I don't have to drive it.

Pontiac dealership in my area, in my eyes are none talented shysters that will never see my face again poor work.

Watch out for this vehicle!

General comments?

Although a dependable vehicle as long as you keep up on the maintenance, the periodic repairs will keep you running to the mechanic. This car is not worth the money.

Engine is responsive and not bad on gas.

I work at a gm dealership, I found these to be some of the most reliable and maintenance free vehicles on the road. The trick is to do the proper maintenance and use GM parts. Water pumps from after-market stores are remans, AC Delco makes the best water pumps, Batteries, and any other part you could ever need. 150000 kilometers is a dangerous time for these vehicles, but stay on top of maintenance and the vehicle should go the same distance over again.
