"Decent car if you don't get a lemon"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Windshield wipers stop working once in a while.

Fog lights failed.

Drivers side headlight failed and passenger side just flashed.

Rear struts blown at 10,000km.

Very cheap paint, chips very easily.

Transmission makes a grinding noise.

Trunk lock is cheap quality; trunk was stuck shut for a period of time.

General comments?

A decent car if you don't have any reliability issues like I have.

It's pretty zippy and decent gas.

My next car will not be a GM product. I will be looking into imports.

My 2003 Pontiac Sunfire, had to have been the worst car made. Problems started from day 1, had to have it repainted b/c of discoloration in the paint and on a white car it was very noticable. Then my tail lights went out, I took it in 6x to get the problem fixed, even had to call the police dept to get escorted to the dealership for fear that I was going to have an accident on the way. Then recently I had to have it taken in because 1 of the 4 cylinders had completely died. Then I had to take it in to get the coil pack replaced as well. The car had to have been the biggest piece of junk I have ever owned, and all of my previous vehicles were used. Imagine that, the first car I buy brand new, turns out to be the worst. I will NOT own another gm vehicle EVER. So I understand where you are coming from. Oh, another problem I had was the vent in the dashboard kept popping up, then when I had that replaced they put the dashboard on with Velcro, in which I made them replace because it looked tacky. Also the cigarette lighter quick working so did one of the air vents... OH the list of problems continue, I finally got rid of it and would NEVER own another one. Just bought an 88 Jeep Cherokee which out performs the Sunfire, and only cost 650. Imagine that... good luck with the car, I hope it gets better.

My 2003 Pontiac Sun fire has been pretty good to me. It has a nice, sporty feel to it. I had the car for almost a year now, and the car still performs like the day I bought it. I love the 2.2l ecotech, it saves me money on gas, and still delivers the power when I need it. the only problems I have had with the car is. I want to go fast all the time. I haven't had any problems with the car electrically or mechanically. The car is a decent car for the price and very reliable.
