2005 Pontiac Wave review from North America
"I regret buying this car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Driver side lock pushed into the door and slid into the car as I was going to unlock it. ($400 repair)
Something went wrong with the "engine wiring", which caused the engine to start backfiring and lost any type of acceleration power and burned out all of my spark plugs. ($1,600 repair)
General comments?
Luckily I had purchased the extended warranty on this vehicle, but if I could have taken back purchasing this car I would.
I bought it late November 2008, and even though it has never broke down on me - I'd have to say the performance of this car is very unsatisfying.
Since I had the engine repair done 3 months ago, it is already lagging again badly with no acceleration power. I always give regular gas changes and use fuel injector cleaner every couple months.
Honestly my '94 Suzuki Swift got double the gas mileage, and also had more acceleration power. I got the Pontiac Wave since I thought it would be like my Swift but upgraded.
It's just that for the money, $9000.00, I could have bought 5 94' Swifts and I think I'd have been better off.
