1989 Porsche 911 930 Turbo review from Australia and New Zealand
"One Hell of a Road Car. 480bhp Crazy!!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Absolutely nothing has gone wrong, accept that it now needs a service and oil change, the usually stuff.
Interior is perfect with some mild trimming needed on the dash and down near the floor, other than that the car is flawless!
General comments?
This is not the average 930 Turbo.
The 930 came standard with a 3.3L Turbo holding around 330bhp combined with a 4 speed manual.
This one harnesses a 3.6L Turbo with complete working. 6 Speed gearbox and over 480bhp make this one hell of a car. The usual increased turbo size and intercooler has been done as well as the exhaust, however it is the next step after that, which sees things begin, the engine has been bored from 3.6-3.8L, which is enormous and also a Boost control has been added, so that the car is basically... A ROCKET
Timed 0-100km h is done in under 4 seconds and this can be achieved in 1st gear second gear sees 185km h so the rest is up to your imagination because I am not keen to test the theory on Australian roads, and it couldn't be known the true poetential even on the track.
The car has a custom Blaukpunkt system that is awsome.
However where most race cars look average and what they lack in looks make up in for I performance, this car fails. It has staggering performance: the grip and speed is incomprehensable, it also has the looks to go with it. Large polished rims that are suited to the car and exceptionally tastefull rocket it along the road, and an RSR wing squats the tail down. Also CS front end keeps it rigid and on the road, also a front kit helps the aggressive appeal of a 911 Turbo.
This car is seriously crazy and it has to be seen to be believed.
The paint is a purple candy which is truely stunning especially late in the afternoon.
My mates call it an investment gone crazy. Who cares you have to love something other than your wife otherwise you never know what your missing.
