1998 Porsche 911 carrera 2 review from UK and Ireland
"I now know what all the fuss is about"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
No faults have occurred with the car. Porsche's are bulletproof.
General comments?
After owning a boxster I was totally in love with porsches. The boxster was lovely to drive, It handled like it was on rails and the engine made a lovely wailing noise at 3000+ rpm. I decided to sell it due to the fact that boxsters are too common.
I decided to go for the 911. I have a 996 carrera 2 with the full GT3 bodykit and GT3 wheels. This car is simply the best. It is tame when driving in traffic yet when you are presented with an open road it explodes with superb performance. The cabin is functional and comfortable, The brakes are superb and no car has the pedigree of a 911. I have driven ferraris yet they pale in comparison to the 911. Words do not do justice to the 911, I think you have to just drive one and you are hooked.
