1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 review from North America
"Reliable, steady on all surfaces, and with the performance and handling you expect on a Porsche"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Failed heater blower fan.
Replaced starter.
Replaced alternator.
New clutch at 55,000 miles.
Clock stopped working, replaced.
Convertible top motor replaced.
Door switches replaced.
Main fuse/relay box replaced.
Loose wires behind air-box fixed.
Leaky convertible top.
General comments?
Performance and handling is excellent.
Rough ride, but that's to be expected.
Very tight fit, anyone over 6' or with a few extra pounds may very uncomfortable.
Love the low rumble of the engine.
The car costs more than a typical vehicle to maintain/repair, but the costs are still reasonable.
Do yourself a favor, learn a bit about the engine operation, even do a task or two - things get very affordable if you don't mind a little dirt and grease.
Try to find a specialist and try to buy your parts wholesale.
Gas mileage is surprisingly good, I get 25 miles to the gallon on average.
Very reliable daily driven car.
