1984 Porsche 944 review from Netherlands
"The car to get comfortably and fast anywhere"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Clutch was gone when I bought the car.
Some trouble with the electric windows and the door locks. To solve this required USD 25 in parts, but many hours to fix.
Apart from that the only other part which was needed during 3 years and 75,000 km was a headlight switch (USD 40).
General comments?
Excellent compromise between road behaviour and comfort. It accelerates and handles very well, but also lends itself to be driven at moderately high speeds for long stretches. I often drive it for the approximately 600 km between gas refills at one stretch, which takes me about three and a half hours, without getting tired at all (and yes I know one should take a rest every twohours). Modest fuel consumption, even at high speeds.
