1985 Porsche 944 review from North America
"An awesome car for an awesome price!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Starter went out about a month after I bought the car, cost me around $200.00 dollars.
After about 5,000 miles the master cylinder also went out, that cost around $80.00 and took a few hours of work, but no big deal.
My ignition wires needed to be replaced, I found a set for $89.00 that have performed very well. And other than an oil change, and changing the belts on the car, I've had no other problems from it.
General comments?
The car handles like a dream, best handling car I've ever driven and will probably ever drive.
The initial investment is well worth it, I bought my 944 at the age of 16. I have an average job, do all the mechanical work myself and I've been very fortunate with it. Anything is attainable and the upkeep on this car isn't bad at all if you maintain it.
This car turns heads, the rear of the car is a little unattractive, but there are things you can do to that.
