Noise comes from front wheel after two weeks of driving and again after twoo weeks, after fixing the problem. Indicator lights went dead after three weeks. The door has a defect after 1 month; door latch makes noise and is difficult to open now.
Driving is great especially when taking corners. I love driving on zig-zag roads with this car. Fuel consumption is high. Fuel consumption is 8.9lt/100KM, rather damaging to my pocket.
I agree with what you said. my neo. just 1 month. masuk garage ad. crackangle sensor rosak. tow to proton... then after 1 month again.. break light stop functioning at all. huiyo... and power window no power. if you are driving A/t can you tell me izzit a green light at "N" position?

My neo, one month old. the door came off. I'm not joking, its true. the exhaust rusted. What is wrong with proton car?!>!
I tell you what, I bought my proton neo one month old nia,
fuyoh!!!, you know what, I drive so the fast and the windscreen crack ar.. the wiper also flew away. Don't know why. I think they hadn't put the screw in properly. The steering wheel, I don't know what happened, also got turning problems. I dono ar, so sien la, got so many problems. I regret buying this car. Give me back my money. I recommend others to buy kancil than from buying neo.
1) A brand new car for me and so far OK. I have completely read about the manual book of how to maintained it.
2) However my exhaust has a slight rust. Maybe after combustion there is a trap water inside. This water will turned into steam when heat up the car. Brand new car is like that. No worries.Water to steam from exhaust is good, not oil.
3) I drove so fast for the past decade with all kind of cars, never came across windscreen crack due to speeding. My best example is driving 1 ton lorry with almost 90 degree position windscreen with great wind resistance at 175kmh.Still not crack. Unless sharp object hit the windscreen, it sure crack.
4) Neo wiper using bolt to lock the wiper. It does not come with screw. Any car wiper does not come with screw.
5) Proton help me out to do balancing and alignment before I collected my car. So now my steering is OK.
I own a Neo, Max Speed I drove before was 195km/h n my windscreen dint even crack. The chassis is tough too and everything's is not like what others said.
I own a Neo too, since last August. In general, I love the exterior and handling, it's superb. However, the day I receive my car, the mileage is already 400++km, but when I ask the sales man, he told me that that is normal, so can anyone confirm that to me? Then, later, I found out that the alignment is out and the back spray nozzel doesn't work. However, I brought it to Proton and they fixed it back for me. Then, my passenger door couldn't be opened from inside. So again, I send for fixing, it was fine for 2 weeks before it happened again. Sigh.. I really got tired of all this runs to the service centre. It doesn't end here. Recently, due to continuous rain, my passenger side is flooded. Brought to Proton and they say it's due to the weather seal. They got it fixed and while waiting for the carpet to dry, I've to drive around with out my interior carpet for 2 weeks. and guess what it's still not solved as it happens again, the leaking. As I'm typing now, I'm waiting for the call for me to collect it. Tell me, would you too be disappointed?
I experienced the weather seal and already sent it for repair. Perhaps you should go to Mutiara Damansara service centre. The team coordinate well so far with me.
Week 1 with the orange Neo. Other than slight alignment problem, everything is super... so far!! (you have to always cross your finger with first generation model). I love the look, inside & out, it does have the "Lotus" presence in term of styling - look at other Proton cars, this one is an improvement by by leaps and bounds. I'm okay with the performance, quite zippy and tight. Slight lag on throttle response on standing start (A/T). Wouldn't trade it for the Kelisas, Mivys, Getz or the Picantos.
Pros: LOTUS
Cons: PROTON.
I am planning to buy a brand new satria neo 1.6 (a) or 1.3 hyundai getz. but after reading the comments from a few neo owner, I have second thought about it. would appreciate if you guys can give me your opinion is it worth it to buy neo bcoz i have my decision by this saturday 14 april 07.
The proton salesman told me the fuel consumption is reasonable, the power is good and no problem with neo.
Neo has a good design, but still having a lot problem with quality.

Another thrash car... many people are getting away from Proton. I would recommend to switch it to Perodua. If you can afford, go for Honda or Toyota.
Just think it over again. A company (Proton) has been loosing money (600Millions ringgit) over the past 9 months, or equivalent to 2 million a day. After getting your Neo, the company will close down. U will cry until your tears dry up!
May be the government will use our EPF to bail out Proton? We will wait and see how it goes. Good Luck to your investment!
Actually I heard from some local companies who are suppliers of various car parts to proton, that they have been squeezed by proton to lower their price. Proton knows its sole advantage is price - and they are pushing their suppliers to lower the price in order to be able to lower the overall price of their cars. So what do we get? Cheaper parts, lower quality. That's why we find exhausts which rust after a few months, or rubber linings which crack easily, electrical parts which don't work, and all the rest. Look at perodua, the build quality is super good, as good as toyota (almost) but the price is a bit steep for a car as small as that. Buying a proton means you have to be really cincai, you must not complain about any problem you get. Otherwise be like me, get 2nd hand toyota cars. Enough of proton for me. At least toyotas also try to lower their cost without compromising on quality.
The neo is a real drivers car. its not practical for anything other than to grab a friend along, and go for a nice weekend drive.
Space is lacking, it leaks, seat is too high, and yup.. quality is still not on par with other manufacturers. but brand new, at the price, nothing comes close to it handling wise. in fact, I dare say nothing in the local market today up to RM150,000 (brand new) can match this car for its handling, and pace on twisty roads. Actually, if I took out the word Proton from my comments above, it would seem like I'm actually describing an Alfa...
Now if only proton can get their quality issues sorted...?

I think it just a normal thing when your car sometime got some problem even also other branded car..

So please be consider that P1 is always upgrade their car quality & handling..
We should appreciate their effort and just give some good opinion on how to improve the car..

after 5000km the fuel consumption will be OK
and to compare with 1.6 which fuel comsptn is higher?

Hi Guys.
I have been using my Satria Neo 1.6 AT Hi-Line for 5 months now (trip meter around 8000 km). Generally I don't find any major problem (hopefully not). What I like about this car is the look for exterior and interior, handling very good, good sound insulation for the price, come with the cruise control and the sound of the engine roaring when U rev it at high rpm... very rugged sound. What I don't like about this car is the seat position too high, late push at low rpm, back seat legroom very limited and the rear boot has no key lock to open it from outside (maybe better if I install the remote control lock for the rear boot). The only problem I face with this car is the radio reception is poor (can hear the noise when playing radio). I will send my car for the second service and hope they can solve the problem.
