1995 Renault 19 16v review from UK and Ireland
"Thrash Core! A rare French rocket"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing major so far, I have only had the car for a month. I do however know that when something goes wrong with a Renault (having previously owned one) there is a compulsory tax which applies, we shall call this 'bad component layout tax', generally resulting in truely monumental repair bills.
General comments?
The reason I can deal with the above tax is because car is an absolute stormer. If you drive between the 4000rpm and 7500rpm zone you will cover ground at more than a brisk rate whilst also leaving the majority of other motorists well and truly behind you. This car has the ability to make you feel 'big' and 'clever', yes its not a new car now, but when she is polished and your encapsulated in its black leather love, you often wonder if it would be worth spending twice to three times the price of on vectras/escorts/astras. - no.
I'm only 19, yet I'm constantly asked how I can afford this car and its insurace. Well the car cost me a little under £2000 and insurance is £1000 a year, that's not very much money, yet my 'executive' racer probably costs less than the 'mods' people put onto there 1 litre fiestas to make them look 'rude'. I don't get hassle off of these child racers in novas and escorts because they know that it would be futile, no I'm in the big boys leaugue and I'm going to make sure that this rare underrated motor continues to make £30,000 BMW's sweat and other cool car drivers nod. (Rover ZR 180 man thumbs up for our 140mph M11 thrash - your cool)
