2002 Renault Clio Sport review from Mexico
"Best option even against the Mini S"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Presilencer had to be replaced -on warranty-, some rattles inside, tires not very apt for speeding in Mexican roads, even they being 195-50-15 (very similar to UK roads, just with no speed real limit even in the highways, I mean, you can pass a police at 220kmph and they won't stop you unless they se you driving foolishly). It should have 20mph more of top speed and a 6th gear.
General comments?
This is a superb car, a lot better than the Audi, the T.C.S. works great and there is no BMW series 3 (except, of course, the M) or C lass Mercedes, or Audi that have passed me in curvy roads. Comfort is average ever though it has alcantara seats, the driving position is indeed odd, but you get used very fast. In any road I driven with my A3, I can drive at least 15 mph faster with the Clio RS.
