1999 Renault Clio Grande review from UK and Ireland
"A good reliable car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When locking the doors using the central locking remote I found that the immobilizer was not setting correctly and it would take two or three attempts to set this was found to be a faulty relay switch which was easily replaced.
I also have found that the sunroof has a rattle every now and then although usually this is not a problem.
General comments?
I purchased this car to use mainly for commuting and shopping. I have found the car to be very reliable and cheap to run it has a very smooth ride and the handling is good I was also impressed by how fast it seems even though it is only a 1.2ltr engine.
If you are looking to buy a Clio for family use then I would advise going for a larger engine which should be easier to drive long distances when taking more than two people.
Overall I am very impressed with the car and dealer network and will certainly purchase another Renault in the near future.
