2000 Renault Clio Sport review from UK and Ireland
"Good run around - don't pay dealer prices though - get it done elsewhere!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Sunroof rattles - only just started, but it is really annoying now.
Exhaust fell off at 32000 miles, so had to get a new one fitted - Renault wanted £250 to supply and fit! Ended up getting it done all in for £98 at a private garage - no problems with the new one so far.
Standard Michelin tires are appauling for grip.
Outside plastics faded.
General comments?
Gearbox is very clunky and sometimes difficult to put into gear.
Cannot begin to say how bad the grip is with the standard tires - understeer around most corners (which is at times good fun). Will be fitting some sticker tyres.
Performance is OK for a 1.4 I must admit, revs high and hits 120mph on the speedo (this is probably about 110mph in reality) but the need for something faster and less economical calls now!
