There is a knocking noise from the engine under hard acceleration or pulling away from stationary on a hill. It has been back to the main dealer 3 times in the past year I know that it is the engine mounts, but they will not admit this is the fault they keep blaming the exhaust, even though when they tightened the engine mounts the last time the noise went away for a could of weeks.
General build quality is average the driving position is good. The performance and the driving experience this car gives is amazing you have to drive it to understand it, trust me its well worth buying one.
My Clio 172 sport had this knocking problem too. It was the engine mount, it was tightened and never had an problem again. The exhaust rusted through though at 19k (3 year old) so needed a new back box and the alarm failed. It wouldn't stop going off so I had to override it with the code. Other than that it was a good fun and pretty economic car :o)
