1996 Renault Clio Oasis RL review from UK and Ireland
"Clio is a fun car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Oil leak at 69000.
Problem with pistons at about 70000 (which was fixed)
Exhaust was blown when I got the car.
Brakes had started to squeak in the last few months.
General comments?
I bought the car for £600 at an auction in Glasgow for my first car. There were a few little problems at the start that got fixed, but it was half-expected as it was an old car. it has cost me a fair amount to fix, but it is a fun and comfortable car to drive.
However, though the Clio was a good car, the time had come where I had to move on and find myself something a bit more modern, safer and reliable (I have written a review on my new Fiesta).
As a first car or to be used as a little runaround, I would highly recommend it.
