1994 Renault Clio 16v review from UK and Ireland
"A versatile cut above the usual GTi, race it or take your granny to the shops"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The rear shock absorbers began creaking at 37,000, replaced them with Kayaba units that give a firmer ride.
General comments?
Must have the cam belts changed every 36,000 without fail - expensive at a dealer, difficult if you do it yourself.
Oil change (semi-synthetic) and filter every 6000 and you've got yourself a reliable hot hatch a cut above the rest.
Fast and comfortable, understated looks and quite rare on the road - just how I like it.
