1998 Renault Laguna RTSport review from UK and Ireland
"Outstanding car with patchy reliability"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Windscreen washer pump failed at 70,000 miles, the same as my previous Laguna.
The water pump failed at 110,000 miles.
The auto transmission failed at 120,000 miles.
General comments?
The car was very quiet, comfortable and economical at speed.
The ride, handling, roadholding and brakes were outstanding, far superior to my present Honda Accord.
The 1998 engine is a big improvement on the 1995 engine and again is equal to the Honda VTEC engine with 20% better economy.
The headroom is excellent both front and back.
The visibility, like most cars, did not meet my hopes.
If the auto had not failed, I would have driven it to 200,000miles.
