2003 Renault Laguna Sport Tourer Dynamique review from UK and Ireland
"Very pretty and very capable, but needs better build quality"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Sudden failure to start - takes 8 to 10 attempts to start along with clouds of smoke.
Front left tire constantly going soft and needing pumping up on at least a weekly basis.
Assorted rattles from inside the headlining.
Passenger vanity light failed after 1 month.
Drivers door speaker buzzes at anything more than moderate volume.
General comments?
It's a real shame it isn't screwed together properly as when it is all working it is a seriously good car.
It wafts along on motorways and is very comfortable which is hard to find as I am 6ft 4in tall.
Once you get used to the steering response it can be hustled along at a serious rate of knots.
The big 225/45 17inch tires grip well, when pumped up, and allow you to maintain momentum.
It is not a point and squirt car with this engine, but can just gobble up the miles quickly when you want to.
It looks superb in Dynamic trim in Perlescent Black with the part leather interior.
Excuse the wrong spelling of the trim and tires due to the spell checker.
The response from several dealers to the non or poor starting problem was "Can you bring it in to us in 3 weeks?" You can imagine the response.
