1998 Renault Megane Coupe review from Croatia
"Nice designed piece of junk"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Catalyser fault three times (20.000km).
Engine carrier fault at 26.000 km - $55.
Rest of exhaust fault at 40.000 km - $700.
Electric ignition fault at 46.000km - $260.
Accu was gone in only 2 years - $60.
Lambda sender fault at 55.000 km - $200.
General comments?
The price for the each catalyser was $1000. It was replaced under the warranty twice. In the meanwhile the warranty finished and the catalyser with the rest of the exhaust was faulty again. It was all rusty and broken. Before this, I wouldn't
have believed that could happen. My wife bought
new Toyota which has now 78.000 km and hasn't had any faults yet! I feel like I was robbed by Renault.
Also the dealer service centre in Velika Gorica called Starkelj has very high prices and has a tendency to change parts which are not necessary!!!
I'll not write about all other faults because there is not enough space and because it is still too painful for me...
