1997 Renault Megane Coupe review from UK and Ireland
"Looks good, and is fast too; shame it's a Renault"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Foot wells, filling with water when it rains, does not seem to be door seals!
Water leaking from underneath, possible radiator problem I think, but I'm not a mechanic by any means.
Stereo display does not light up, although the stereo and CD changer are both working; tuning in the radio is a bit like a lucky dip.
The car feels like it judders, whether in neutral or driving, although it has new spark plugs (have had many suggestions on what else it could be, but all with an expensive Renault price tag),
and after reading other reviews I am increasingly concerned about problems I may face when I need to change key batteries, which I don't think is going to be long.
General comments?
This car is fast and handles well, will probably be the cause of receiving, speeding points on my license.
A car for people who like to drive, more than just get from A to B.
Comfy to sit in too, which is a bonus, just a shame it wasn't better put together. I feel that Renault have created something that dragged the buyers in, and made sure they continue to get our money for the lifetime of our cars.
