2008 Renault Megane review from United Arab Emirates
What things have gone wrong with the car?
For starters:
A) The 1st gear has the slowest pick up, even in comparison to smaller cars with weaker engines. Really embarrassing!
B) Considering the fact that the car is only a year old and has been used with great care, the car would have rather uncomfortable vibrations. Sometimes so bad that I feel the gear would just fall out.
C) At fast speeds, and I mean only 80, the cabin seems to have a leak, I can hear air breaking into the cabin.
I keep encountering a host of problems now and then, but whenever I approach the (Genuine) service centre they seem to come up with a bunch of excuses as to why nothing needs to be done in this regards. It's this attitude of the after sales service that is making sure that Renault cars never sell here in Dubai. Seriously, you can count these cars on fingers here.
General comments?
The car does have great handling and the steering is great. It seems fairly stable on high speeds. The interiors are probably made of C-grade improperly recycled plastic. Just a description of how cheap the interiors look.
