1998 Renault Megane RN review from Isle of Man
"A nice car with a major design problem"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Despite being entirely happy with the car, the gearbox (automatic) starting 'snapping' when going into (D) rive from either (N) eutral or (R) everse. On taking it to our local Renault Dealer today, we were informed that it needs a new gearbox - cost - £1,800. This all despite the fact that the car has only done 21,000 miles and was previously owned by a 'Motability' driver.
Drivers of Megane Automatics please beware.
General comments?
Drivers of Automatics please beware.
This is going to be a costly exercise, considering that the new gearbox will cost approximately 40% of the original purchase price!
