1996 Renault Megane RNe Paris review from UK and Ireland
"A reasonable well performing car."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The water pump went soon after buying the car and had to be replaced at a cost of £140.
The lock for the bonnet also broke just after I had bought the car.
At 60,000 miles the catalytic converter had to be replaced, cost £175.
The whole exhaust system has been replaced in the time I've owned the car.
I got a small chip on the windscreen, which developed into a large crack due to some cold weather. It cost £90 for a new windscreen.
On very damp mornings the car sometimes struggles to start and often cuts out again once you've began your journey.
The rear breaks can also lock when the car is left in damp conditions for a day or two.
General comments?
This car is a nice car to drive without being overly impressive.
The interior looks good and it is a comfortable car for long journeys.
