"Magic carpet ride"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The damn shock absorbers break with 20000 km, the rear and the front ones, and they cost you a fortune, almost 500,00UDS each one!!! Those are the ones with the air pocket inside that regulates the height of the car.

Despite this expensive problem, the car didn't give me any further problems.

General comments?

It is very comfortable, it's like a magic carpet ride, the engine runs smoothly. And the top speed is reached quick (to very), that is 215 kph, 0 to 100 in 9.8 seconds.

It's a very decent car, but don't pay a fortune for it!

That's the first I've heard about the shock absorbers.

Had my 2.2Vi for a year. Bought it with 98K on the clock.

Two problems. No fuel coming through. Before I knew

a garage had replaced the pump (£250).

When the fault reoccurred shortly after I found a loose power lead connector attached to the pump.

Also the AC unit started to rattle. Checks proved it was unrepairable so I just took it off. Making a bracket for the alternator and fitting a shorter Fan belt.

Otherwise a fine car.
