2000 Renault Scenic RXE review from Malaysia
"A nice car to own, unique in its class!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nice face lift. So far so good in general.
One of the rear seats is very difficult to remove. The dealer workshop informs me that this is due to the new metal design lever is binding due to thermal metal expansion, and it required some pressure to lift up the mechanism. I was also informed Renault realised this problem happened in hot climates like Malaysia and will change the design. This is not convenient for ladies.
The rear seat head rest is not comfortable, the design angle does not seem right. I have to take them off.
The front seat tilt adjustment knob is not user friendly. I have to turn quite a lot to get the seat adjusted, perhaps a lever type design would work better.
General comments?
I like the design.
The engine is not very sporty, but does the right job for family use. Engine noise is a bit loud.
The roomy design makes long distance riding joyful.
