"Goes well, quite a stylish egg on wheels!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Both front CV joints have needed replacing, but the garage who sold it to me have dealt with that.

I would imagine that the previous owner either allowed the CV boots to split and did not get them fixed quick enough as I am surprised that CV joints on any car should go at such a low mileage. Therefore I don't blame the car.

The buttons have all fallen off the radio facia which is a bit pants!!

The oil readings on the dash board seem to vary before start up - could be just that its on a slope. I'll take my readings off the dip-stick I think!

Other than that - nothing wrong at all so far...

General comments?

Have never had a Renault before (previous car Ford) or an MPV, but so far am very much enjoying it and apart from initial problems which could occur on any vehicle impressions are good.

It drives very well and handling seems quite positive so far (although I haven't really pushed it). Motorway cruising very steady!

I like driving position and I don't have to bend double to get into it - you sort of just glide off the kerb into the driver's seat without having to bend.

The little hatches in the floor are fun (my son (age 6) thinks that these (and the fold down picnic tables on the seat backs) are the main feature of the car! He calls it Thunderbird 7 and the trailer we have is Thunderbird 8). I found some more hatches under the back seats at the weekend much to my surpise. Be sure no one stores anything perishable in there though and forgets about them!

The boot is huge with the seats folded.

General first impressions are that its very different from a normal car, well laid out inside (so much leg room) and has loads of character. I like it - it's a cross between a family car and quite a stylish looking set of wheels. It does resemble an egg though I have to admit.

So - its 'Thunderbirds are go...'

They are decent cars aren't they I had my old 1.6e 8v Scenic up to 110 MPH and my newer 1.6L 16v one up to 122 mph. no one else was in the car at the time. It can be a bit unstable above 90 MPH though.
