Nothing. Two small light bulbs needed replacement.
The Rolls represents an incredible value for the amount of cash required to purchase an older model, which after 18 years shows no appreciable wear of any part of the car.
The Silver Spur was designed in the true Rolls Royce tradition, and one only needs to slide into the driver's seat and close the door to know what I mean.
For less than the cost of many sub-compacts, one can experience the same ride and comfort enjoyed by the few who can afford the cost of a new Rolls Royce.
Whilst I appreciate that some future repair costs may await me down the road, I will savour the present with the knowledge that the car was originally built without any regard for cost cutting.
I own an 88 Silver Spur and agree completely with your estimation of the outstanding qualities of this series of motorcars. There is no doubt that the 20-thousand series of Rolls-Royce is perhaps the best ever produced by Crewe. Actual ground work for the Silver Spirt and Spur series began in the early to mid-70's with the first car produced in 1980. By 1987 changes were afoot and in the middle of that model Year Rolls-Royce began producing the 20-thousand series of the model, which were light years ahead of the previous Spirit/Spur models in technical terms. These cars are easily identified by the Vin number that begins with 20... In 1990 yet another change was made, this time to the suspension system, and those cars are identified by Vin numbers that begin with 30. For my money the 20k series are the best every produced by Rolls-Royce... they have fewer problems and are much more reliable than any proper motor car before them and to this day still hold their own against their successors! That is quite a statement, and quite an accomplishment!
