1997 Rover - Austin 600 620 review from UK and Ireland
"Understated beast of a car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Window lift mech failed.
Gear linkage wear.
Thrust bearing wear (gear lever jingles)
General comments?
This is a fast responsive and comfortable car. a few minor irritations listed but on the whole a real monster, it handles well and depite awesome performance fuel economy is un-believably good when you can resist the temptation to make that lovely engine growl!
The leg room in the back is limited if the front seat occupants are reasonably tall but that's a small price to pay for such luxury and grunt.
The dash can easily accomodate 2 din size audio appliances by removing the plastic storage tray and I've used that space to fit a dvd player.
The air conditioner is supurb and contrary to popular belief it doesn't seem to affect economy.
This is among the best cars I've driven or owned and would recommend the Rover 620 TD to anyone.
