2001 Rover - Austin 75 Connisseur SE Tourer review from UK and Ireland

What things have gone wrong with the car?
Steering needed centering, possibly caused by road calming traffic humps (thanks council).
Slight rattle in the driver's door, which has now disappeared.
General comments?
What a car.
The Connoisseur SE already comes well trimmed, but I have added wooden steering wheel, gear lever and handbrake to really finish it off. The combination of wood and cream leather looks stunning.
The car has exceeded all of my expectations in that:
It is very, very comfortable.
It is completely silent when on the move.
The CD/sound system is superb.
The diesel engine pulls like a train, it is my first diesel car and it is a big improvement on the refinement of my previous car, a Ford Scorpio Ultima.
The Tourer estate area makes this a very practical car indeed.
Fuel consumption is excellent, 49 MPG being my best so far and 44 MPG being regular.
Absolutely stunning value for a stunning car, even the people who gave me stick for buying an 'old mans car' are now feeling a bit silly when they compare the luxury of my 75 with the spartan interiors of their Audi A4 and BMW 3 Series (which they are paying a lot more for!)
