Since new, nothing and I do mean nothing, has gone wrong one my beloved 827. In fact she has always backed me up ie. against boy racers.
She is PERFECT in EVERY way, she may be getting on but there's no way in this world I'm ever letting Mr Scrapman getting anywhere near her, not my SARAH.
SARAH is 11 years young and a handful - 200bhp plus. I've only taken her to 140mph, but she had more, a lot more.
Someone loves their car!!!
Amen to that, my brother. I too owned an 827SLi, of a 1993 vintage. I loved it for all the same reasons as you - and more.
Fast? How about J9 M25 to North Swindon / A419 in 65 minutes? (Including steady 80 thru camera sections).
PGM FI system originally developed for Ayrton Senna's F1 Williams / Honda, all major sensors duplicated plus 'limp-home' mode? My 90 Vitesse manual is a joy to drive. It's got minor intake mods (resonator removed etc.) and Koni shocks all round, one & a half coils removed from front springs, leather, aircon, trip computer/ full VCM etc, etc.
Who cares if the door electrics are cr*p? It's cost me about a grand to purchase and own for six years, and you can get out of it after a six hour drive feeling invigorated and relaxed at the same time!!

I've have just been given a rover by my dad 827 Si and it it effing sweet. I like to rip it up and give it the works. it sent me flying. it sure has got guts underneath its bonnet.
I definitely back that up. The Rover 827 is a superb vehicle. I recently bought one which was 6 years young, low mileage for its age and immaculate condition. No problems whatsoever. Absolutely superb to drive.
Owned a 13Yr old 827 Vitesse for about 6 months, full electric, leather, and that wonderful Honda V6.
OK it does on average 20MPG, but I drive it the way it was designed to go. Like a bat out of hell!
When It finally goes bang (can't have much life left in it at 16,000 miles) I will cry! what a wonderful car, and a real surprise to all modern car drivers, in particular BMW 2.0 liter plus (anything less is no challenge)
Spins wheels in second in sports mode (auto) in the DRY!!!

I have an 827 having some problems witht the clutch, but apart from that its the best car I have ever owned 1990 modle.
I must jump on the band wagon with you all. I also own a 827 Vitesse mine with the full Tickford bodykit. My other cars are a Volkswagon Golf Mk2 GTI with a two litre engine and a Renault 5 Turbo yet the Vitesse is by far my favourite. Roll on Roll on!
I'm now on my 3rd Rover in 3 years, 1st was a diesel 600 1996 with 130,000 miles - is okay reasonable power for a diesel obvious economy benefits 45 mpg driven hard, but very annoying window problem where e/w's have both jumped out of their runners.
2nd was a rover 827 sterling 2.7 v6 which is comfortable luxurious and very cheap - £500 3 years ago when it had only done 84,000 - is beginning to develop a few annoying faults now, but have had 3 years very cheap motoring - only having to pay for tyres brake pads and oil changes in that time 20,000 miles later- so impressed have bought another one!
Another 1994 Rover Sterling on an "M" plate 100,000
better condition inside and out and only £300, also at auction. Have put a middle and rear exhaust replacement on for £60, replaced a light bulb, a tyre &number plate and hoping to get its MOT on Tuesday.
This one seems even more powerful (the other one was well overdue for new spark plugs) can top 140 - get there very smoothly and quietly if a little thirstily, has cd changer in boot, car is a nice metallic red with pale beige unmarked interior. Might even get another one when I've had my use out of this one!
