Nothing has gone wrong with the car, it's really sweet and very reliable.
Great little runner.
Cheap on petrol, insurance and road tax.
Ideal for new drivers, as I am a new driver I would really recommend the Rover Metro.
Tahiti blue is a great colour and improves the look of the car considerably.
No ordinary Metro!
Little nipper! Flies in 1st and 2nd gear! You won't hang about!
I need some help, for my second car I want a Vauxhall Cavalier hatchback between 'F' and 'J' reg with a 1.4 engine. If anyone can help me get hold of one I would be grateful. I need the small engine because the insurance companies will cane me out of money.
I agree with you entirely, my first car was a metro and I remember when I got it I was like eugh a metro.. but honestly I grew to love it. It NEVER let me down, I had the car for 3 and half years.. it was only a 1.1 but she ran like a dream. It was Tahiti blue in colour.
OK in the time I had the car it needed work, and was only resprayed once over the rear arches. Good thing about the cars is that they are now getting to the age where you can get parts easily from the scrappy.
I'd have loved to have kept ahold of this little girl who I'm very proud managed at 12 years old and in a 1.1 115mph. Unfortunately the head gasked blew due to a rusted pipe as water didn't get through to the engine 6 weeks after its mot (it NEVER failed an MOT). It managed to run all the way back home with the gasket blew.. had the heads reskimmed and ran on cold and successfully sold for more than I paid for it 3 years previously! It ran over 100 miles after the gaskets blew and is still on the road today.
Gotta love a reliable car who won't give up!
