1988 Rover - Austin Metro Mayfair review from UK and Ireland
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Fuel tank, suspension ball joints, brake pipes, rear suspension arms, suspension units.
General comments?
This was my third metro. I don't know why.
These cars, especially the models under the Austin name are disappointing. The engines & gearboxes usually last well however the rest of the car falls apart around you. Rust is a particular problem around the front of the car. The hydragas suspension is costly to fix and gives a poor ride. Cheap to buy but maintenance a constant chore.
