Rear springs, front windscreen does not fit correctly, gaskets split, dash rattles, seatbelts break, rear leaks water in heavy rain because of severe rust problems, sun-roof leaks because of easy blockages in drainage, brakes so bad you need a road as long a a runway to stop, buy a white one and within a year it has changed colour to brown not because of an expensive respray but because of the rust. Will not pull up a hill fully loaded in any other gear but 1st, expensive to run.
Absolute bag of crap.
That is rubbish, they are very good cars.
It seems you either love them or hate them.
Nope, I just tell it how it is...
The car was terrible!!
Steve.

Yup, I agree with you here Steve, they are terrible cars. End of the day, mistakes like this finished Rover off.
I had one of these great cars for a few months back in 1994; it was a 1988 model. I paid £100 for it. In its previous life it had done 140k as it was used as a Taxi.
In the few months I had it, I traveled every weekend from my house in Oxford to Tamworth to visit my future wife. Each weekend I would do this journey, then come home, and on each Monday something always went wrong, and then I would spend each evening with my Dad fixing it ready for the trip on Friday back to Tamworth.
This was replaced by a Maestro, then another Maestro, then a few cars that were not Rover until last year when I brought an L reg Metro on eBay.
