1997 SAAB 900 review from North America
"Low resale makes it a great buy!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Clutch at 230,000, climate control 250,000, a/c at 230,000, rear brake light assembly 250,000.
General comments?
This is the best car I have ever owned. I just sold my 1994 Saab 900 Commerative conv and needed a tep. car. I have driven this for two years and love it. The clutch went, but was a fluke (as it was just replaced). The problem I have with the car right now is that the left strut tower rusted at the weld point about 180 degrees. It will cost about 500$. The brake light assembly just fell apart. The overall leather interior is perfect. Stereo is great, love the WB feature. Purchased turbo rims which made it look newer, as well I removed the chrome trim and 900 badging, looks like a newer 9-3. I was debating on buying a new car, but why. I paid 3200$ on ebay and have put in 2000$ (including mags and tires).
