1992 SAAB 900 Turbo carlsson review from UK and Ireland
"A fabulous, great value modern classic"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
2nd gear shredded - a common t16 fault!
Got unlucky with the exhaust - every section needed to be replaced within months.
General comments?
The biggest regret of my life. Selling it that is!!! The classic 900's are truly fantastic cars, and this rather rare Carlsson model (one of only 175 ever built in white) was a little belter!
Comfortable enough, certainly went well (standard apart from slightly lowered and a brand new stainless steel exhaust and produced 200.5 bhp on the rolling road), the lovely classic 'burble' from the exhaust. Fab!
They look simply fantastic; mine was nice and low with a very purposeful squat stance, but caught the exhaust clamp many-a-time on speed bumps : (
Handle nicely, but suffered from quite a lot of torque-steer and understeer if not careful.
I sold my Carlsson to purchase an Integrale Evo, my childhood dream - and really wish I hadnt. The rather shoddy 'Grale lasted 4 weeks before it was returned to the garage for a refund.
I would have another 900 Turbo any day of the week, I simply adore them!
