1994 SAAB 900 S review from UK and Ireland
"A (very pleasant) surprise"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Minor cosmetic faults only so far. A couple of loose fitting internal pieces (sun visor clip/ashtray facing) broken and cheaply replaced. Central locking system is a bit stiff and clunky.
Mechanically nothing at all yet. But when I bought the car it came with a long service history so it had obviously been looked after.
General comments?
Why oh why didn't I buy a Saab before. This really is a super car. Although just a straight 2.0l engine, it's sprightly enough around town and cruises comfortably on the motorways.
The interior is spacious and the boot cavernous. Everything works. The ride is extremely comfortable and bless those Swedes for their heated seats.
I'm yet to discover a downside. It's is perhaps slightly thirsty, but not outrageously so. It's even cheap to insure. Yes the car is ten years old, but I paid just £750 for it and I'd rather drive this car than my wife's new Renault Clio.
