1988 SAAB 900 900s review from UK and Ireland

The first thing to go wrong was shortly after the car was bought. The headlamps began to cut out and I found that the wires leading to the headlamps had corroded so the wires were replaced.

The radiator developed a leak in 1996 and thus had to be replaced.

The starter motor gave up the ghoust in 1998.

The sunroof began to leak from 2001 due to the seals perishing.

The screen-washer tubes split in 2002 and were replaced, though the replacement tubes split within 6 months. Fortunately the new tubes have lasted well and have not split, so perhaps was just a bad batch.

The car also has become plagued with electrical defects over the past 5 years.

Also in that time the usual items have been replaced like tyre's, brake pads exhaust etc.

The car has proved to be reliable, though is now showing it's age with many little electrical faults. Though touch-wood no major reliability issues.

The car has been very comfortable especially on long journies. A little bit of a squeeze with four people though, but front leg-room is good.

It drives well and has plenty of get up and go even now. I find the car a pleasure to drive and is a good companion.

The car is very capable and has achieved over 150,000 miles it was well worth the investment. It is an excellent value for money car, though the cost of parts can be a little steep.
