1994 SAAB 9000 CSE review from UK and Ireland
"A discredit to SAAB"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Plenty.
Reverse Gear burned out.£600 rebuild.
Clutch slave.£150
Heater Matrix.£250
Cat Converter.£350
Brake calipers.£300
Aircon is apt to going a wee bit crazy.
This was all above the general wear and tear items such as brakes, tyres, exhausts etc.
General comments?
I had a 9000 2.3Auto before this without any probs at all.
I had the car 2000 miles when it wouldn't go into reverse. This was caused by an inherent fault in reverse gear oil seal rupturing, burning out reverse gear. Happens in a LOT of Saabs apperently.
Then the clutch slave went because of the new clutch. Box had to come out again to fix.
The floor was always soaked, due to a leaky heater matrix.
Rear electric windows don't work in the rear (never have), only on panel in the front.
Aircon is unadjustable, keeps blowing at max volume either way.
