2006 Saturn ION 3 review from North America
"Best bang for buck"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing abnormal except for the usual wear and tear of driving 30,000km a year. The rotors are toast and need to be replaced, that happened around 60,000km. When I first got the car, I got a few rattles and squeaks. The dealership attended to those. Otherwise, no complaints.
General comments?
The 2.4 VVT motor has lots more power than the 2.2. I have smoked many civics even with my granny shifting.
Handling is miles ahead of my previous car, but still could be better. Installing aftermarket lowering springs and upgrading the front and rear sway bars will fix that though.
Worth the money? hell yes. I challenge you to find a dealership with better service, and a car with similar performance for the same price. Yeah, you won't.
The polymer panels actually saved me a bunch of money when I got into an accident. The panels flexed and I only got a small scratch on my bumper while the Toyota echo I hit had a drooping bumper.
