1997 Saturn SC SC1 review from North America
"It's a point A to point B car, would not make it the family car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The only real and annoying issue that I have had with my Saturn SC1 is that the thing constantly burns oil and lately upon breaking I smell and see smoke burning for about 10 minutes after take off. I change the oil on a regular schedule and in the last year I have started using the oil for high mileage autos. It seems to last longer and not burn as fast.
I had a certified mechanic, who is a good friend as well, check my car over and I was told that Saturn's are notorious for burning oil, overall not a bad car, but I wish I would have purchased a Camry or an Accord they seem to last forever with inexpensive and minor repair issues. Someone, please bring back the days when you could keep a car for 20 years and only reason you got rid of it because it started to rust a little bit!
General comments?
Do your research before you decide to purchase a used Saturn, I am glad I found this web site, it's very informative.
If your over 5'7 this car is not very comfortable on road trips and enough space between you and a front seat passenger, especially if they are a larger adult.
