1998 Saturn SL review from North America
"Great value for the money, safe and dependable"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
In almost three years of owning my first Saturn, I only encountered two problems. The first minor problem was a faulty dome light inside the cabin which was replaced under warranty.
The second, around 18,000 miles I had the ignition control module replaced under warranty. Other than that, it was near perfect.
General comments?
After my own experience with my 1998 Saturn and after seeing further proof, 1998 was Saturns best year for quality. I had essentially no problems with the car and felt secure in its reliability.
The seats were a bit low to the ground, and the engine did have some vibrations at idle, was very inexpensive to maintain however. My retailer has been excellent and due to excellent lease/finance rates I leased my second Saturn last week (2001 SL1).
