2000 Saturn SL 2 review from North America
"An excellent American car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
To date, I've had only one small problem with my Saturn. An engine mount broke while hitting a bump after being run off the interstate. That was quickly and courteously replaced under
warranty by the dealership.
There are also occasionally some rattles on the inside of the car that I can't locate, but they usually go away after a few minutes of driving. One annoying rattle I did eventually locate was under my seat. It turned out to be a coin.
Sometimes, after driving in rain, the wheels will make a chirping sound while turning or applying the brakes. Evidently, the sound is normal, and since it has not rained in a month, I'm not that worried about it.
General comments?
My Saturn has been a real joy to drive.
It handles very nicely on all the roads and bad drivers that my area has to offer.
The gas mileage is excellent. I average 32 miles per gallon in the city and 41 on the highway.
The interior is far from luxurious, but it is comfortable enough for long journeys.
I miss my old Mercury Sable, but my new Saturn and I are getting along splendidly.
