1994 Saturn SL LS1 review from North America

I replace engine with a salvage yard engine approximately 800 miles after purchase due to a spun rod bearing that went out for no apparent reason other than it had been ran hard by a teenager before I bought it.

Replaced water pump. (normal for 113k)

Drivers side radiator tank has small crack I can't seem to seal. I am going to have to replace it.

Great cars, this is my second. I sold the last to my mother in law with 165k on it. Still no problems and getting close to 180k.

Both cars use some oil, but nothing like I would expect from a car with that high mileage. They both use approximately one quart for every 2500 miles, which is when I change my oil.

Interior is bit cheap feeling. Too many rattles, but what do you expect from a plastic car. My seats have held up well. The only major problem with the interior is the screws vibrate out of the console compartment every so often.

Great driving car. Have taken it on a few good trips. I average 2000miles per month, and 30mpg. Both cars still drive great!

Hard driving by young kids seems to kill these great cars. As long as you show it a bit of respect it does great!

Like I said I have owned two and love them both!
