2003 Saturn VUE from North America - Comments

I too have a problem with the VTI transmission doing a very scary hesitation periodically. It feels as though it is going to stop on me, but starts up again after a brief moment.

Most recently, I was driving it and it did stop dead. I had it towed in and after three days was told that a rodent had chewed through my transmission wires. I was shocked. They said that it was quite common and charged $900.00 to fix it. I complained to GM and got no satisfaction whatsoever.

Except for this horribly unreliable VTI transmission, I have liked the VUE.

I have had the worst runaround from the service departments, including lies told to me.

I cannot in good conscience recommend a Saturn product to anyone ever again. You will be sorely disappointed, and it is likely to cost you time, money and lots of stress.

I too had my transmission to quit on my Saturn 2003 Vue.

I couldn't afford to pull it but to one garage,

it's repaired now, $3000.00 on a credit card. I'm on a limited income so it's really stressful.

Now since it's been worked on, it will not pass inspection, because no one can get a read out

between the Saturn computer and the garage computer. It passed last year.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I own a 2003 Saturn Vue, and I also had problems of it cutting out on me. I took it to a dealer, and was getting the run around. I even offered to let that particular dealer keep that Vue and I would just purchase a new one while I was there. They in turn laughed at me and said you don't need a new one there is nothing wrong with the one you have. It has been parked now for the last 4 months in my driveway with the Vti transmission completely disabled. I am in no financial position to have it fixed, and the Saturn company just gives me the run around.
