1987 Seat Marbella review from Greece
"If all SEAT's were made that way, I'd never bought any other car!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing-nothing-nothing
except for few times the refrigerator fan failed to start due to thermostat having the day off. Fixed it myself with a manual switch on the dash, and the addition of a temp-gauge next to it.
And, of course, seats have fixed-position back!
General comments?
These little beasts are extremely tough. Had two of them, both sold after they had done way more than 180.000 klm.
Never been serviced (both), only oil, spark plugs and contacts be myself-not regularely. They only need some warming up, and they'll run forever. Both were bought second-hand, both resold with compression as new!
This car is the epitome of reliability, very spartan though. Both were hard driven, gas pedal to the floor in long trips, they did 140-150 kph.
Never needed no spares, only para-flu after long fast trips with pedal on the floor (said again).Fluid used to overflow when treated that way (after stop), but they kept going and going without overheating.
