2001 Skoda Fabia Elegance review from UK and Ireland

Only problem is a slight rattle in the in-dash tray where you can keep your phone etc, this has been fixed though!

I think that the diesel engine is the perfect mix for this car as the fuel economy even in town is in its high 50's and the torque is amazing in this small car making it seriously quick surprizing a few drivers in Corsa's and Fiesta's!

The steering is brilliant- very light when you need it in parking spaces, but it weight's up nicely when out on the open road.

Speedometer is slightly difficult to read as it goes up in 20 mph markings so you need to be careful to observe the 30, 50 and 70 mph limits because the car is so quick, but it's easier to read than digital or those in the centre of the dash speedometers!

Seats appear to be too uncomfortable at the start as their very hard, but they soften up and become very comfortable after 10 minutes and you appretiate this in a long drive and it is far better than it's rivals!

Rides wonderful! Very supple for long distance cruising and a great handler, which is amazing!

Cabin could do with some silver touches etc as it's a bit plain, but it's well made (rattle execpted).

Not cheap, but is loaded with kit for the money and you'll save money with it's fuel economy.
