2001 Skoda Fabia Comfort review from UK and Ireland
"Reasonable car, terrible dealership network"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Rear washer stopped working after 4000 mls.
Head gasket blew after 25,000 mls.
Oil and steering sensors intermittently failing.
Annoying noisy squeaks from the dashboard.
General comments?
When the head gasket blew the dealer tried to tell me that the goop in the filler cap was only due to using synthetic oil.i.e it wasnt a blown gasket. I had to look up the net to find out that it was a blown gasket and then the dealers replaced the gasket.
I crashed the car and the local dealers would not take the car in for repairs because I didn't buy it at thier dealership. This meant that I had to have the car towed to a garage which was not a skoda dealership and they carried out repairs 4 times before they got my car fixed.
I recently needed the car serviced and the local skoda dealer (I've moved since purchase) refused to service the car telling me to take the car to the dealership where I bought it. (this would mean a 140 mile round trip]Thankfully I hadent bought the car in Bolivia.
