"Fantastic bargain with an air of quality"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I have an odd starting problem, sometimes the car will not start but when left for 10 to 15 minutes it's fine?

General comments?

Great build quality, but I have to agree with all the other reviews I've read that it dies up hills.

Also there's a complete lack of performance upgrades, the only exhaust I've managed to find is from Jetex and a chip upgrade from Superchip.

As for the problem with starting: When the engine is hot, gas pedal must be pushed to get it started. It is mentioned in the car manual.

With regard to problem of power of the Felicia, I have a 1.6 and have just fitted a performance air filter from JR.

This has made for cleaner quieter tickover and better response.

I also drilled out the bottom of air box with 8mm drill holes as I was well informed by someone who knows cars that this is very much the same as an induction kit costing £60.00. The filter cost £36.00 inc VAT.

I understand your problems regaring performance upgrades I have a skoda felicia 1.6 slxi and I am having similar problems locating performance upgrades. K + N do air filters for it, but no induction kits available, will have to keep looking.

I had a 1996 Felicia single point fuel injection approx 92,000 miles which had bad starting problems when hot - eventually tracked the problem down to the sensor on the inlet manifold - unclip the connector and give a good spray with WD40 and re-connect. Never had this problem with a later model as a different setup with multi-point fuel inj.
